Message I'm not even arguing against your stance on rod bolts at such engine speeds. But as a mathematician, I have the experience to know that the entire field of applied mathematics (which is what you're doing) is based on approximations and imperfect information (it is unreasonable to think that we can account for everything all the time). As such, your results are approximations and therefore can be slightly off (in favor of either of our stances). You said it yourself - you live in the real world. Theoretical math is perfect and flawless, applied math, which concerns the real world, allows for some error.

Perhaps you're right... but of the few 1000rwhp Z32s I've heard of, I haven't heard of them requiring 8000rpm to reach their goal, and that was the basis of my stance. It will only take a single Z32 making 1000rwhp below 8000rpm to demonstrate the errors and underlying assumptions... and I don't believe it's impossible, like you do. But to be honest, I have little interest in the type of Z32 that you're building (the type that this thread is about), so I digress. We'll have to agree to disagree on the necessity of 8000rpm for 1000rwhp.

Good luck with your build, though. I hope your car makes 1000rwhp at 7500rpm, because I'm sure you wouldn't complain if it did. :)

"When you say this, will you be surprised if your arguments seem to move about instead of staying put? And will you accuse me of being Daedalus who makes them move, though you are yourself much more skillful than Daedalus and make them go around in a circle? Or do you not realize that our argument has moved around and come again to the same place? [...] Or do you not remember?" - Socrates
